CRISTINA ANICHINI - GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Loneliness and solitude are themes that have haunted me all my life, and therefore play a large role in my work. Through various forms of media (illustration, web design, and multimedia), I depict the state of loneliness by isolating my subjects, whether they are people or objects. In addition, I use featureless faces to portray the mindset that accompanies loneliness. Among the lonely people, there is a struggle to connect, a belief that they are somehow horribly different or flawed, and this is the essence of what I am communicating.

Another theme I work with is obsession. Specifically, I want to depict the silly, repetitive, and sometimes frightening aspects of obsession. Using textures and repeating objects, I examine subjects that I myself am obsessed with, including TV, women, hands food, love, and, of course, loneliness.
