BRUCE FAQ:
Who the heck is Bruce
McCulloch?
Bruce McCulloch is a writer, director, actor, and
comedian best known for his work on the TV show, Kids in the
Hall. Read his biography for more information.
How tall is Bruce?
Seventeen inches. No, I'm kidding. There have been
various guesses about Bruce's height, ranging from 5'6 to 5'8, but
the official answer seems to be 5'7.
What color are Bruce's
eyes?
It's a mystery. Some say blue, some say brown, others
say hazel.
How old is Bruce?
He was born May 12, 1961. You do the math.
Is Bruce married?
Does he have any kids?
No and no, but he apparently has a girlfriend.
Is Bruce gay, bi,
or straight?
Bruce's sexuality is his business, so I really couldn't
tell you the correct answer. However, he has had several girlfriends,
and some of his comedy bits are based on relationships with women.
What's with the cross-dressing?
I'm gonna go ahead and quote the KITH
FAQ on this one:
"In [the Kids'] club days, there were some female members but
often they would leave the troupe for better paying jobs. In order
to perform sketches with female characters, they decided to play
the womens' parts themselves. The Kids are not men in dresses for
laughs, they are performing female characters, with as much depth
and character as any other roles."
Where can I find
Bruce's filmography?
Bruce's filmography can be found at IMDB.com.
Didn't one of Bruce's
girlfriends appear in a KITH sketch?
Apparently, Bruce's girlfriend at the time appeared
in the "AT& Love: The New Girl" sketch and the "Neat
Freak Boyfriend" sketch.
Were Nicole de Boer
and Bruce dating at any time?
Although Nicole de Boer played Bruce's girlfriend
(Laura) in some sketches, they never dated. Don't believe me? Here's
what Bruce had to say during a live Comedy Central web cast:
"No, that would be wrong, um, we actually hired
her to kiss me,
which apparently isn't wrong. Actually I was into it, apparently
that's
wrong, too."
Why didn't Bruce
return for the 2nd season of Twitch City?
According to Don
McKellar Online,
"Bruce was filming the movie Superstar at the
time, so he was unavailable for shooting. So, Don decided to bring
in another Kid In The Hall-er - Mark McKinney - to be his replacement."
Was Bruce really
in Wrath of Khan?
Yet to be determined. IMBD used to list this in Bruce's
filmography as "uncredited", but it's gone now. I've watched
a few parts of the movie, but didn't notice Bruce at all.
Was Bruce really
in Anne of Avonlea?
Yes he was. He had a small role as Diana's fiance,
Frank Wright. See the pictures here.
Where can I find
Bruce's CDs?
Shame-Based Man and The Drunk Baby Project
are both available at Amazon.com.
As for Answering Machine & More, the promo CD for Shame-Based
Man, try e-bay.
One of 'em pops up there every once and a while.
What other Bruce-related
merchandise is available?
Most of the movies Bruce has been involved with are
available on DVD and VHS at Amazon.com.
Videoflicks
has Dog Park on DVD, but they tend to run out of stock from time
to time. Twitch City is played on Bravo occasionally, and there's
a possibility of its DVD release in the future.
Where can I find
a copy of Bruce's appearance on ____?
For any television appearances you can try Barb's
KITH Trading Post, or, if all else fails, e-bay.
SITE FAQ:
Who runs this site?
Hello, my name is Cristina, and I'm a Bruce-a-holic.
I'm just your average college student with way too much time on
her hands.
How often is this
site updated?
Ok, you know what I said earlier about having too
much time on my hands? Well, I lied. I'm actually pretty busy. Add
this to the fact that Bruce's projects are few and far between,
and, well, you're not looking at very frequent updates. But I shall
try my best to add new material to this site as often as I can.
Do you know Bruce
personally?
No, but I wish I did. I met him briefly once, and
he was very nice, but that's as far as it goes.
Do you have any idea
how I can contact Bruce?
According to Bruce's official site, you can send Bruce an e-mail at brucio@brucio.com. There are also a couple of old addresses
you can try, but there's no guarantee that Bruce or the Kids will
respond, or even receive your message.
Contact address from the KITH 2000 Tour Program:

P.O.
Box 324 Station B

Contact e-mail address from KITH 2002 Tour Program:

Do you have permission
from Bruce to run this site?
No, not technically. However, his official
site has so kindly linked to Brucio's World, and there haven't
been any lawsuits yet.
Has Bruce seen this
site?
I honestly don't know. I'd like to think so.
Can I use stuff from
your site? Like pictures?
If it's for your own personal use, go right ahead.
However, while I don't own the rights to any of the pictures, I
have spent a great deal of time and effort collecting, scanning,
and screen-capping them for the Bruce-loving public. So, if you
want to use my pictures on your own site, please give me credit.
As for the wallpapers, please refrain from using them without permission.
In turn, if you see something here that belongs to you, let me know
and I will give you credit, or remove it if you please.
Can I donate stuff
to this site? Like pictures?
Of course! I'm always looking for contributions. Because
some of Bruce's work is a bit hard to come by, I'd love it if anyone
could donate anything I don't already have up here. I also encourage
you to submit quotes, pictures, ideas, whatever.
I'm looking for a
tape of ____. Will you make me a copy?
As of now, I do not have the capability to make copies
of my tapes. However, this could change in the future, so don't
lose hope. In the meantime, you can always check e-bay,
or try Barb's
Kids in the Hall Trading Post.
How did you make
this site?
This site was made using a combination of Adobe Illustrator,
Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
How did you make
the screen-caps?
The caps from VHS video were made using a device called
Snappy. The caps from DVDs were made using an application called
Power DVD.
Can I request a
screen-cap?
Not for this site. What you see is what you get. However,
if you want one for personal use, you can still ask. If you want
something for your own site, all I ask is that you give me credit.
Be warned, though, that it may take a while for me to get to your
request, especially if the screen-cap is from a VHS. |
